The meeting was opened at 1915 hours by Scott Lumsden.
28 members were present (in no particular order): Christian Friis, Scott Lumsden, Gary Lyon, Peter (Mr. B.) Lucassen, Guy Merrett, Gary Burke, Garry Walker, Roger Mack, Keith Taylor, Geoff Garrett, Jim Catterson, Les Harvey, Phil Williams, Dao Viraya, Kieren Savage, Ram Taylor, Mark Morris, David Hubb, Dan Severson, Ted Taylor, Archie Lee, Mike Breeze, David Murphy, Malcolm Tetley, Frank Schwarz, Phyllis Miles, Sherman Miles and Yung Beece.
Gary Lyon chaired the meeting.
Christian Friis read the minutes from last year’s AGM 02/02/09 – Accepted.
Christian then distributed the financial statement for 2009 showing end of year funds on hand of Bht. 8331, went through it and commented on it. – Accepted.
Next the e-mail from Garry Walker about the Charter was discussed. It was voted with a show of 16 hands that the Charter is no longer valid.
Scott then said thank you to all.
Malcolm said thanks to the officers.
Next point on the agenda was the election of officers. The following were elected:
Lanna Captain – Gary Lyon – by acclamation
Mae Joe Captain – Yung Beeze – with 17 votes. Ted Taylor received 9 votes.
Secretary/Treasurer – Christian Friis – by acclamation
Handicapper – Gary Burke – with 15 votes. David Hubb received 7 votes, 6 abstained.
Webmaster – Guy Merrett – with 15 votes. Garry Walker received 12 votes, 1 Roy Roger.
General Business:
The handicap system was discussed at length. Mr. B. proposed a revised system where higher handicaps are adjusted faster than lower handicaps (in accordance with the European system) This was passed with a show of hands. Please see handicap pages on the website for details.
Membership fees remain as is (600 for new members, 150 for renewal).
Calender of events: The Internation Scramble in March. Texas Scrambles in June, September and December. The annual tournament in August.
Jimmy Catterson proposed a knock-out competition – Carried.
Sherman Miles proposed that ladies now play off the red tees – Carried with 16 votes.
A separate competition for the ladies was not carried.
David Hubb proposed to change the Mae Jo day from Tuesday – not carried
Instead it was decided to make Fridays an additional club day at Mae Jo.
